Emerging Generations at Immanuel Baptist Church is a group of people who desire to reach up to God, into each other’s lives and out into the world. We accomplish this by specifically focusing on those people who are 19 to 35-ish years old. Emerging Generations is an age-based or life-stage affinity group that helps people in their 20s and 30s get connected to other Christians and get further connected into IBC.
Meeting together is a big part of what we are all about. Most people need to deeply know others and to be deeply known by them. Our group is great at providing a place where everybody knows your name...and they are always glad you came. It's nice to have at least one place where you know people care about you and would actually miss you if you didn't show up.
Our typical group members are 19-35-ish in age who like to spend time, share life, play, and rest together. We are comprised of singles, couples, and couples with kids. More importantly than age and stage of life, we are about the mission that Jesus set us on years ago in a culture that does not believe the Bible is relevant to our lives. We seek to become the kind of people that God has asked us to be, and live our lives in the ways that Jesus modeled for us. Learning to love God with our lives is a powerful motivator in this group of people. God’s desire for us is to walk in His ways because He knows the best possible way for us to live. We seek to live in these ways and we invite others to join us on that journey.
Emerging generations has a special service each month (except during the summer) known as The Bridge.
